I always thought I was born a generation too late, but now it appears that in fact I was born two generations too early. See this article. Is it true or false? True/true and unrelated? False/False and irrelevant? I saw the above at CostCo a few weeks ago. Periodically the image pops up in one of the dreams I happen to remember. That is one nice thing about gastro-esophageal reflux (GERD): When you wake at 5am and go back to sleep after some Pepcid AC you tend to remember your dreams. Hmm.
This is a small experiment in the blogosphere. "If you have no interest in what it's like to grow old, what follows is not for you. However, if it's going to happen to you, and the outcome is ultimately going to be negative, then finding a way to make the process as bearable, even as enjoyable as possible, might be worth a little attention."—from John Jerome's On Turning Sixty-Five

“In beholding old stones we may feel our anxieties about our achievements–and lack of them–slacken . . . Vast landscapes [and seascapes] can have an anxiety–reducing effect similar to ruins, for they are the representatives of infinite space, as ruins are the representatives of infinite time, against which our weak, short-lived bodies seem no less inconsequential than those of moths or spiders.”—Alain de Botton in Status Anxiety

Yes, Dad, this article is talking about a real phenomenon. It's my opinion that the whole sex game continues even after college, but it only continues with people who are stupid and naive, maybe people like ME who are just learning that when a guy is interested, it doesn't mean they are your SOUL MATE. But I am a fast learner, so all is well on the home front. Back to the article, I also wanted to say that I think that most women feel dirty and used when they practice promiscuous, non-discriminant sexual behavior. I think I know this because my female friends speak openly with me about this exact subject. Men, on the other hand, just put another notch in their belts and call it a day. Please check your Facebook sometimes, k? I STILL WANT TO GO ON A TRIP WITH YOU! If somewhere exotic, then, let's just drive somewhere, because the most important part will be the time you and I spend together, getting to know each other.
I meant if NOT somewhere exotic.
I am humbly honored to be asked out by my own daughter.
