Snow "returns" to Kilimanjaro - and without the benefit of the Kyoto Treaty, Cap & Tax, or Al Gore. Who wudda thunk it?
BTW: I lived and taught in Old Moshi for several years. Old Moshi is a region located on the southern slopes of Kilimanjaro just at its base. The view was always spectacular! I used to see snow regularly on Mawenzi, which is the smaller peak to the east of Kibo. My wife was also born in Old Moshi and grew up there, so to both of us it is still home.
I took a bus trip some years ago with a bunch of kids from Dar to a couple of parks whose names I have forgotten. By the time we got to Moshi—I thought they spelled it Moshe—we noticed the prosperity of the region. I think I have a picture somewhere that announces the Rotary meeting all over the city.
