Ruthless: The Musical

What He Said!

Opening night at Billings' Venture Theatre Friday 9 May 2008. The best of a very good and balanced cast were Lisa Lombardy and Dallas Martin as Judy and Tina Denmark. Tina's biologic father, Kelly, did a great job as a female impersonator though I never quite figured out why.

A new artistic director, Robert Brian Woods, is arriving soon: the playbill for next year looks very interesting. Watch this space. Oh yes, in June 08 Lysa Fox will once again do Patsy Cline better than Patsy Cline, and her very funny partner, Tonya Hoiness, will also return as Louise.

“In beholding old stones we may feel our anxieties about our achievements–and lack of them–slacken . . . Vast landscapes [and seascapes] can have an anxiety–reducing effect similar to ruins, for they are the representatives of infinite space, as ruins are the representatives of infinite time, against which our weak, short-lived bodies seem no less inconsequential than those of moths or spiders.”—Alain de Botton in Status Anxiety
